Charity Choice – April

By April 26, 2017 Blog No Comments

This month, the charity donation choice has been given to Matt Trinder. Matt is head of Technical Services here at Tisski. Matt’s charity choice went to his local community centre, York House.

York House Centre is a well-used Youth, Community and Arts Centre three minutes’ walk from Stony Stratford town centre just north of Milton Keynes. Housed in a three storey Victorian building (c.1860) which is Grade II Listed and is run by a Volunteer Board of Trustees to provide rooms for hire for the whole community, this charity aims to bring the community together for events, fundraisers and to learn new skills.

Matt says ‘York House is our local community centre which is managed by a volunteer board of trustees. They provide rooms for hire for a wide range of different user groups including self-help groups and other charities, run Community Projects such as the annual Lantern Project and Big Draw, run 2 Youth Clubs and affordable community drama classes for young people (Act Out & Act Up) and it has a Community Gardens Project on its rear land.’

The Trustees have not agreed which project/s will be supported using the money yet (but lots of discussion is taking place) and we will update when we know more about the project.
