A small charity with big ideas, Down Syndrome Cheshire support adults and children with Down’s syndrome – and their families – to unlock their potential and lead happy and fulfilling lives by changing perceptions, creating opportunities, and educating the wider community.
Formerly known as Cheshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group, the charity have recently rebranded and relaunched and when they were making plans to expand the services they offer, they identified the need for a new system to help them deliver on their promises.
When Down Syndrome Cheshire turned to Tisski for help making it all possible from a technical perspective, the Tisski team were only too happy to offer their support. As an organisation who pride themselves on supporting charitable causes on a regular basis, Tisski enlisted the help of Delivery Manager, Sarah Meeks, and Dynamics 365 Consultant, Gabrielle Barnard, at no cost to the charity themselves.
Together, Sarah and Gabrielle worked to configure Dynamics 365 to suit Down Syndrome Cheshire’s requirements, enabling them to store details for members with Down’s syndrome and their families and friends, as well as fundraisers and other key contacts. The charity can also use their new Dynamics 365 system to provide detailed information about their service providers and activity sessions, and to manage their email marketing campaigns.
“The Tisski team has supported us every step of the way throughout this project. They’ve listened to our needs and developed a bespoke database that meets those needs, advising us, giving training and answering our questions along the way. Having that expertise at hand has really helped us to move the project forward and establish a solid grasp of how we can use the database to benefit our work with local people with Down’s syndrome and their families. The work that Tisski has done will have a huge impact on the efficiency, service and reach of our charity. We are rapidly growing to support even more people with Down’s syndrome, their families and health professionals who work with them. This new database is really at the centre of what we do in terms of providing services, support and information. The impact will be felt right across our community.” Lawrence Caygill

Tisski Delivery Manager, Sarah Meeks, led the project from start to finish. She said: “Working for Tisski has enabled me to unleash a part of me that I have not experienced with other resellers. Working with Down Syndrome Cheshire to provide an IT solution that will enhance the charity’s ability to support and communicate with its members during a key growth period has been an honour.
“For me, the real satisfaction comes from the pro bono work. The fact that Tisski are so generous, and that I am a part of it, fills me with pride. As a Delivery team, we feel very privileged to be working in this capacity and look forward to seeing Down Syndrome Cheshire flourish.”
Dynamics 365 Consultant, Gabrielle Barnard, provided skill and expertise to see the project through. She said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work on this project and virtually meet individuals who dedicate their time to helping others. I know more about Down’s syndrome now than I ever did before, so it’s been educational for me, as well.”
