Summer 2019 Charity Choices

Tisski supports a number of charities across the country and the globe. We’ve sponsored our Director of Operations, Ben Austen to run the Greater Manchester Marathon for St Barnabus Hospice. We’ve donated to The Ups of Downs whilst Team Tisski sweat it out in a rowing competition at our local farmshop and kitchen, Farmers Fayre and we also ask a different employee each month to donate £2000 to a charity close to their hearts.

Last month one of our sales team, Tony Ceaser, chose to donate to free@last, a charity who are based in a disadvantaged part of Birmingham and desperately need money to keep going in the face of cuts. This donation will go towards the £30,000 per month that they need to run the charity which covers a wide variety of costs. From Christmas presents to youth trips, utilities to salaries.

free@last’s vision is to improve the lives of the children and young people, as well as their parents and the wider community of Nechells and to turn a community of poverty into a community of prosperity and opportunity.

July’s charity choice

This month Jon Norman, our Head of Delivery chose The Mary Steven’s Hospice. Jon chose this charity as the hospice is in the town where he lives and provides in-patient, day care and care at home services for people with life limiting illnesses. This charity needs at least £2.8 million a year to provide the services they offer to patients and their families so we hope this donation helps them.
