April 2021 Charity Donation

This month, the recipient of our charity donation was chosen by our Dynamics 365/Power Platform Consultant, Tervinder Sandhu. He chose blood cancer charity, DKMS, to receive £2,000 from Tisski.

DKMS – short for ‘Deutsche Knochenmarkspenderdatei’ (German Bone Marrow Donor Centre) – originated in Germany, but found their mission going international, extending to include Poland, America, the UK, Chile, India and South Africa.

The organisation works hard to create awareness of blood cancer and disorders, recruit suitable donors, raise funds to cover donor registrations, and support the development of blood cancer therapies through independent research.

DKMS also support patients and their families and friends, on hand from the day they receive a diagnosis.

Speaking of his choice charity, Tervinder said: “DKMS are a wonderful charity dedicated to fighting blood cancer and blood disorders. I have had some personal experience with DKMS, having volunteered with them for over 12 months while a family member was diagnosed with Leukaemia.

“There is a real shortage of people registering from the BAME groups and DKMS do fantastic work spreading awareness and encouraging people to join the stem cell register, which helps save lives.”
