In 2020, we’ve welcomed plenty of new employees across different departments here at Tisski and among this year’s new starters is Paul Williams, who joined us as a Senior Dynamics 365 and Power Platform developer in November during England’s second nationwide lockdown.
We caught up with Paul to find out how his first week went, what part of his new role he’s most looking forward to and more.
I had just moved back to the UK from Brazil so was actively job hunting. Admittedly I hadn’t heard of Tisski when a recruiter I was in touch with approached me about the opening, but it immediately seemed like a great opportunity.
On my first day I had a good chat with my line manager and got to know more about the company and how things work. In the first half of the week I was able to spend time getting up to speed with Tisski’s HR processes and I even started studying for one of my Microsoft certifications. The second half of my week was busy, as I was enlisted to help with putting in fixes on a project which turned out to be quite tricky, so I’ve learnt a few new things already!
Everyone I’ve spoken to has told me what a great place it is to work. I had interviews with other companies lined up when I was job hunting but I took the opportunity at Tisski because they seemed friendly and seem to really care about and invest in their employees. Everyone has been very welcoming and helped me with anything I’ve needed.
I was really keen to work for a Microsoft Partner from the offset due to the variety of work you get and how much you get to learn, so I’m really looking forward to learning a lot along the way, being able to study, working on interesting projects and seeing where Tisski helps take my career.
