Here at Tisski, we love getting together as a team – spending time with each other and having some fun with our colleagues is invaluable.
On Saturday 9th of July, we hosted our annual Tisski summer party, a chance for everyone to meet new members of the team and have some well-deserved fun! The team and their families travelled from across the UK (and Greece!) to Rutland Water, a scenic location covering 4,200 acres of open countryside, and boasting a multitude of different activities, both water-based and on-land.
After saying our hellos and having some delicious food from the barbecue and cake stand, we were ready to get stuck in. Some of us opted for a more relaxing day, basking in the sunshine and enjoying a leisurely cruise around the reservoir on the Rutland Belle. Others were paddle boarding, kayaking, or diving head first into the Rutland Aqua Park – climbing into wetsuits and tackling the crazy inflatable assault course, testing their balance and strength on the floating climbing walls, trampolines and rollers.
After making the most of the water, it was time for some on-land activities. We took on the Pro-Kick Football Challenge for SCF Children’s Charity and tried our best at welly wanging. There was plenty for the younger audiences too, who all had great fun on the climbing wall from the Outdoor Education Company, there was even a fairground roundabout and Kevin’s Community Circus to go alongside some face painting.
After such a fun-filled day, we were happy to wind down with a few drinks from the Zest Brewery bar and some pizza. The Elusive Black Dog Ceilidh band filled the marquee with music, where we busted out our best dance moves and gave barn dancing a shot. We ended the night exhausted, and some of us slightly sunburned – but most importantly, with our hearts absolutely full to the brim with joy and happiness.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to our very own Fiona Trinder, who put a lot of hard work into organising the party to make sure we all had an amazing time as a team.
