In late November, we launched our Winter in Lapland walking challenge, encouraging the Tisski team and our customers to stay active as the days grew shorter.
With the challenge drawing to a close earlier this month, our two winning teams – one customer team, and one of our own – were each invited to choose a charity they would like to receive a £1,000 donation from Tisski.
Our champion customer team – and overall winner of the challenge – was the Acas iPlods, representing the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas). Between them, they covered a whopping 1473 kilometres (915 miles), flying past the 944.7km needed to cover the distance between Helsinki to Lapland.
Acas chose Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to receive half of Tisski’s £2,000 January charity donation. Founded in 1860, Battersea has cared for more than three million animals since welcoming their first stray, and they’re one of few animal rescue centres that run a non-selective intake policy.
Tisski’s winning team, Steptacular, racked up an equally impressive 1446.3 kilometres – close to 900 miles – across the six weeks.
They chose the NSPCC to receive the second half of the £2,000 – a charity that has been working to help and protect children in need for over 130 years, making huge efforts to prevent abuse, help rebuild children's lives and support affected families.
Congratulations to our two winning teams, and a huge ‘well done’ to everyone who took part in our very first walking challenge.
