Our latest charity donation has been made to Cruse Bereavement Care Birmingham. Cruse offer a broad range of bereavement services to those who have suffered a loss, including support groups and one-to-one support. They also provide bereavement awareness training and support for local schools.
Tisski Support Desk Supervisor, Stuart Hough, chose Cruse as the recipient of July’s £2,000 donation. Stuart’s wife is a trainee counsellor and volunteers with Cruse as part of her ongoing training.
Over the last year, the demand for Cruse’s support has grown exponentially and in Birmingham alone, over 100 people are being added to the waiting list for services every month, particularly within the Black and Asian communities where Covid-19 has hit the hardest.
Across the country, Cruse support in the region of 1,000 people a year with the free bereavement services they offer. Many of those who benefit are adults with caring responsibilities, be that for children or elderly parents.
