Tisski Employee Shares Journey to Becoming Microsoft Certified

Earning Microsoft Certification is a notable achievement when you’re a tech professional, and as a Gold Partner, Tisski support many of their employees to accomplish this status. Service Desk consultant, Maria Green, is just one of more than 60 Tisskians currently studying to complete Microsoft exams.

In her day-to-day role, Maria works hard to resolve any tickets submitted to the desk by Tisski’s clients – essentially, she’s the first point of contact if they’re facing any technical difficulty. But what exactly is Microsoft Certification and how will it help her?

What is Microsoft Certification?

Microsoft Certifications are a little like badges of honour in the tech world, and different combinations of successfully passed exams earn you relevant certified titles. Anyone looking to obtain a Microsoft seal of approval must sit exam(s) to demonstrate their knowledge of Microsoft technologies and their skill level when it comes to performing tasks using these technologies.

So far, Maria has successfully completed three Microsoft exams: the MB-200 focusses on Power Platform and Dynamics 365 Core, and the MB-230 concentrates on Dynamics 365 Customer Service - combined, these exams qualify Maria as a Certified Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Service Functional Consultant Associate.

She has also completed the MB-210 on Dynamics 365 Sales, and together with the MB-200, this makes her a Certified Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales Functional Consultant Associate.

"Passing Microsoft exams increases my confidence in my knowledge of products that I’m passionate about, earning these certifications is great for my career and in passing these exams, I also feel that I can add more value to a company I’m honoured to be working for."

Supporting professional development

Having joined Tisski in the summer of 2019, Maria was just four months into her role when she sat her first Microsoft exam.

"It can certainly be daunting when you sit that first exam – there are a lot of regulations and you spend hours studying and preparing yourself, but knowing what you’ll achieve at the end makes it all worthwhile. I’m really proud to have three passes under my belt."

Tisski CEO, Anna Assassa, prides herself on the company’s core values, one of which is to empower employees with the skills and abilities they need to reach the very top of their game; supporting staff to complete Microsoft exams and earn these certifications is just one of the ways in which Tisski do exactly that.

"The other Service Desk consultants and I are actively encouraged to complete the Microsoft exams and we’re supported in various ways, from being involved in specific exam Teams groups, to being allowed time off from everyday tasks to concentrate on studying."

Achieving life-long goals

With Tisski’s support, Maria is on her way to achieving one of her biggest professional objectives:

"Taking these Microsoft exams isn’t just a way of proving to myself that my knowledge is up to date, but it’s also a step towards achieving my goal of becoming a Microsoft Certified Trainer. It’s fantastic to have the support of my employer; I can honestly say that I have never worked for a company that supports and values employees as highly as Tisski does and long may it continue!"
